Tussah Tweed is a soft and luxurious yarn with fine tweed nepps and a very interesting stitch definition. It is processed from the cocoons of wild butterflies which are allowed to flee the cocoon before it is processed into silk, meaning Tussah Tweed can be called a “cruelty-free silk”. Tussah Tweed is very stable and feels a bit rough at the beginning, but gets softer the more you wash and wear it. For this reason, it is not only suitable for hand knitting, but also for the knitting machine, for weaving and embroidery. Now available in a convenient spool format, with no winding required!
